In the context of the networking activities of the project, the Italian partner SIPL – Interregional School for Local Police, organized meetings with Commanders and high-ranking Officers of the local Italian Police forces.
The purpose of the meetings was two-folded. Firstly, to present the project, its goals and activities, to the envisaged trainees, invite their participation, and increase their awareness on the issues that victims with special needs face. And secondly, to perform an on-site assessment of their training needs and professional point of view in order to delivery a tailor-made capacity building and training.
The first meeting was held in Loano, Savona, on the 24th of May 2017 with the participation of 30 representatives from Local Police Headquarters. The participants represented the local Municipal Police forces of the Province of Savona in Liguria, in northern Italy, including the municipalities of Borgio Verezzi, Province of Imperia, Vado Ligure, National Police, Loano, Cervo, Bordighera, Pietra Ligure, Albenga, and Ceriale.
A second meeting took place in Rapallo, Genova, on June 23, 2017, with 10 stakeholders representing the Local Police Headquarters of Busalla, Rapallo, Recco, Alessandria, Sestri-Levante.
The participants, who constitute both the end users of the training but also decision-making stakeholders, expressed their interest in participating to the Protasis training and stressed the increased need for the provision of training on victim related issues.
